Elevator pitches

Elevator pitch examples from my time at the Red Cross…

(1) Hi! I’m Jonathan from the Red Cross. We are concerned that at best only one in five schools teach their children about basic first aid techniques. We don’t think that’s enough. We’d like to see every child given the chance to learn first aid so that we see a generation of lifesavers. We think we could do more. Would you meet with me to discuss how we might make this happen?

(2) Hi! I’m Jonathan from the Red Cross. We are concerned that you can’t get a short-term wheelchair loan on the NHS. If you break your leg, your ability to get a wheelchair loan should not depend upon whether the Red Cross runs a voluntary service locally. We think everyone should have the right to a short-term loan. Would you meet with me to discuss how we might work together to identify the unmet need across the country?

(3) Hi! I’m Jonathan from the Red Cross. We have become increasingly worried about the impact of the withdrawal of publicly funded legal support for refugee family reunion – families ripped apart by conflict. We know how complex this process can be and how vital legal support is for these families. We think that there should be publicly funded legal support for refugees with permission to stay in the UK to be re-united with their immediate pre-flight family. Would you meet with me to discuss how we might work together to help these families?
