First blog post in a while!

Back in January, I wrote that my busy schedule showed no signs of abating and that was certainly true. If anything, it almost became too busy and I tried to do too many things because I was so passionate to try and make things happen!

I’m sure that we’ve all been there at some time, and I had to step back, review things, before I could then move ahead with full energy again.

I have now stepped back from my work with Together with Refugees. It was a really good experience, and it was great to have the opportunity to share practical campaigning tools with activists around the country who wanted to step up and defend refugee rights.

Going forward, my work supporting the Detention Forum, a network of over 50 independent organisations, challenging the use of immigration detention in the UK continues. I am also continuing in my work supporting Shpresa with their leadership programme, the Voices Network at the British Red Cross, the Sanctuary in Politics course, and training for refugee community leaders at the Refugee Council.

I have also updated my book on campaigning for change, and I’m currently sharing it with a few key contacts. If you are interested in seeing an advance copy, do please let me know.

And time permitting, I am really interested to explore how I can convert my teaching around campaigning into more accessible short videos. Watch this space for more information!

So, my mission continues!
